Steven Mussenden ’88

Steven Mussenden ’88 has been named the new executive director of the Racine Literacy Council in Racine, Wisconsin. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit health care sectors, and volunteers as president of the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce.

Laura Galardi Manahan ’82 hooded her son, fellow SJC alumnus Christopher Manahan ’14, at his commencement in May. She described the event as one of the proudest moments of her life. Christopher graduated with a B.S in Mathematics and Computer Science.

Dorothy Stahlman Ahl ’83

06-04-14 Dorothy AhlDorothy Stahlman Ahl ’83 is in her 15th year as a school psychologist for the Massapequa School District. She previously spent 14 years as a special education teacher in Deer Park and Massapequa schools. Dorothy and her husband, Jim, will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to the wine country in Napa and Sonoma in California. Their daughter, Patricia, works as a librarian in Rhode Island, and their son, Brandon, is entering his senior year at the University of Rhode Island, majoring in physics and math. The couple has lived in Lindenhurst, New York, for 26 years.

Nassau County Clerk Maureen Ryan O’Connell ’84 was honored by the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women at their annual Achievers’ Award Gala in May.

Donna Corrado ’82

Donna Corrado ’82 was appointed commissioner of the New York City Department for the Aging by by Mayor Bill de Blasio in February. She previously served as executive director of Catholic Charities Neighborhood Services Inc.

Susan Shaughnessy Ripple ’85

Prekindergarten teacher Susan Shaughnessy Ripple ’85 has been named the 2014 School Teacher of the Year at Cambridge Park Preschool in Aberdeen, N.J., part of the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District.
