Susan Shaughnessy Ripple ’85

Prekindergarten teacher Susan Shaughnessy Ripple ’85 has been named the 2014 School Teacher of the Year at Cambridge Park Preschool in Aberdeen, N.J., part of the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District.

Maureen Ryan O’Connell ’84

Maureen Ryan O’Connell ’84 won her third term as Nassau County clerk in November. She was first elected to the post in 2005. Maureen previously served on the New York State Assembly for eight years from 1998 to 2006.

Tom Rico ’88

Tom Rico ’88 is controller of the Suffolk County Municipal Benefits Fund, and recently became a science fiction author. His first novel, Northern Lights, was published in May 2013, and is available in hardcover, paperback and e-book formats.

Susan Peters Sangiamo ’84

Susan Peters Sangiamo ’84 recently published her first children’s book, Meet Lefty St. James, which is available on Amazon.com. Susan has been a special education teacher with the Three Village Central School District in East Setauket, N.Y., for the past 28 years.

Jean Goldstein ’88

Jean Goldstein ’88 has been named chief operating officer of Prestige Employee Administrators Inc. in Melville. She has worked at Prestige for more than six years, and has served as controller and chief accounting officer. A C.P.A., Ms. Goldstein has more than 25 years of experience in managing operations.

Elizabeth Juliano Panissidi ’80

Elizabeth Juliano Panissidi ’80 is very proud of her son, Anthony, who was accepted into Gannett’s Talent Development Program. Her other son, Nicholas, is a member of the Toms River Black Sox high school select/college prep baseball team.
