Frances Caruso Ruggiero Pasquel ’70

Frances Caruso Ruggiero Pasquel ’70 retired from Yonkers Public Schools and from her executive vice president position in the Yonkers Federation of Teachers. She was married in October 2013 to Tom Pasquel, and took a honeymoon cruise to the eastern Caribbean, where the couple swam with dolphins. She is a proud grandmother of four: Troy, Cole, Gabrielle and Iliana.

Margaret M. Dwyer Minson ’70, Ed.D.

Margaret M. Dwyer Minson ’70, Ed.D., has been appointed president of Brooklyn’s Bishop Kearney High School. She served as SJC’s vice president for institutional advancement from 1990 to 2002.

Frances Caruso Ruggiero ’70

Frances Caruso Ruggiero ’70 was married on October 25 to Tom Pasquel. Fran has retired from the Yonkers Public Schools in July. She is happy to announce she welcomed a new granddaughter, Iliana Frances, in March 2013, bringing the total count to four grandchildren, all under the age of 5.

Dianne Piwinski ’72 and Catherine Steinmann ’72

class notes piwinski spring 2014Dianne Piwinski ’72 and Catherine Steinmann ’72 had the distinct pleasure of hosting a 25th anniversary of ordination for their pastor, the Rev. Russell Governale, of St. Adalbert’s Parish in Elmhurst. The celebration also turned out to be a mini-St. Joseph’s reunion as Father Russell’s aunt Margaret Locurto Governale ’48, cousin Judith Jacobsen Corbellini ’65, sister Elena Governale O’Sullivan ’81, and brother-in-law Michael O’Sullivan ’82 are all SJC alums. The SJC group was completed with Judith Uhlir Sherry ’65. Pictured are Cathy Steinmann, Elena Governale O’Sullivan, the Rev. Elizabeth Bartoloma ’73

Elizabeth “Betty” Bartoloma ’73 lives in Marine Park, Brooklyn, and retired in 2008. She enjoys book clubs, bowling and beading.

Maryanne Carrino ’73

Maryanne Carrino ’73 has been teaching for 24 years in South Brunswick, N.J., and enjoying her first grandchild, William Gerald.
