SJC Long Island Shapes Up This Summer
Thanks to a $1 million gift from an anonymous donor, St. Joseph’s College Long Island will be getting a major facelift in the very near future. After the Long Island commencement on May 26, new beautification work will be completed throughout the summer, with an expected completion date at the end of August.
The plan includes enhancements at the main entrance on West Roe Boulevard, and renovations to the Quad. Look for a new green space with perimeter walkways, gathering and seating areas, and landscaping and lighting enhancements. Students will be happy to hear the two portable classrooms behind O’Connor Hall will be removed to make way for a open space area for lounging, reading or just taking in the sun.
The intention of the construction is to offer students more space to relax and socialize, while creating a more significant West Roe entrance for visitors to the College.
